Preparing and Retaining the Behavioral Health Workforce in Safety Net Clinics: How Educational Experiences Relate to Work Satisfaction and Retention

Published: 2022-09-01
Updated: 2023-09-06

Project Description

Increasing access to behavioral health providers in safety net clinics is vital to ensuring behavioral health care equity; however, the field lacks knowledge of the factors that better prepare behavioral health providers to practice in these settings. This project focused on how experiences with medically underserved populations during the education of behavioral health professionals affects their satisfaction and retention when subsequently working in safety net settings.
